The U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) developed a comprehensive Retirement Planner website to provide information about Social Security retirement benefits and assist Americans with retirement planning decisions. The Retirement Planner site contains links for benefit calculators and online benefit application as well as specialized sections for persons nearing retirement and frequently asked questions. There is also an option to download a retirement planning CD. In addition, there are links for workers whose benefits, or those from a spouse's work record, are affected by a pension from a job that was not covered by Social Security (FICA) tax. There are also links to several helpful retirement publications developed by U.S. government agencies and non-profit financial education organizations.
